Justified Workin' Women

In honor of my new job (and the entire season of "Justified" that I watched over the weekend) I am sharing my working woman style. (Get your mind out of the gutter- this isn't about prostitution!) This look is inspired by Kentucky's sexiest career woman Winona Hawkins (Natalie Zea) from FX's "Justified".

 

It's pretty simple.

Frilly/button up blouse + solid color pencil skirt + comfy low heels (Aerosoles are featured in my collage).

Who says water sports can't be done in style? 

 

Tomorrow I will be attending Flow Down, an event put on by a few local Chico bands. First, a few musical acts will play at the Covered Bridge, on Butte Creek outside of Chico,Ca. After that all the guest will float down the creek 2 hours to a house venue where there will be a pot luck BBQ and bands will play until the wee hours of the night. I have been searching for inspiration for this event & of course I always share.

 

Summer Reading

As a student I cram all of my leisure reading into my 2 1/2 months of summertime! I'm tackling the Sookie Stackhouse novels this year, but I couldn't help but dig into my bookcase for books I've read over the past summers & brainstorm a few accessories that those stories inspired.

 

 

Purple peep toes to accompany the portrayal of African-American female bonds in 1930's Georgia.

You'll be into mood flip flops and braided leather bracelets while you enjoy "Inherent Vice", Pynchon's retro, intelligent stoner detective novel. It's "The Maltese Falcon" meets "The Big Libowski", meets "Helter Skelter."

Middle aged dude gets it on with a 12 year old nympho. Red patent flats. Nothing else.
